Domaines Bonfils is a family business, that has been growing grapes since 1870. Now in the 6th generation, the business comprises 19 Domaines and Chateaux, 17 of which are in the Languedoc with 1800 hectares of vineyards, making them one of the largest independent grape-grower/wine producers in France. Chateau Vaugelas spans 150 hectares between the Montagne Alaric and the Montagne Noire and has belonged to the Bonfils family since 2000. The domaine used to be an abbey and has been producing wine since the 16th Century.
Ruby red with violet highlights. Intense notes of fresh raspberries and redcurrants, smooth and silky tannins with a rounded mouth watering finish.
Serve with lamb cutlets, sirloin steak or honey roasted duck or game, roasted meats and cheeses.
