A big, bold, fruity red wine from the South of France.
Domaines Bonfils is a family business, that has been growing grapes since 1870. Now in the 6th generation, the business comprises 19 Domaines and Chateaux, 17 of which are in the Languedoc with 1800 hectares of vineyards, making them one of the largest independent grape-grower/wine producers in France. Chateau Villerambert covers of 100 hectares of vineyards on 11 distinct soil types (including one on pink marble) on the lower slopes of the Montage Noire. Gallo-Roman traces found around the property lead to beliefs that the first vines were planted on the domain in the 4th Century and that the name originates from Villa Ramberti. The Bonfils family acquired the domain in 2014 and reunited the 11 soil types at that time.
Ruby red, complex fruity notes of red and black fruits lifted with subtle spice and oak. Showing great fruit expression, a well balance wine with silky velvet tannins and a long pleasing finish.
A great match for lamb cutlet, duck breast, sirloin steak, meat in sauces and strong cheeses.
