Founded in 2005 by Brian Ellison, Death's Door Spirits started as part of an economic development project aiming to reinvigorate agriculture on Washington Island, Wisconsin. Therefore, Death's Door Spirits make their spirit from hard red winter wheat grown on Washington Island. In addition to this, the malted barley used in the spirits is also grown in Wisconsin in partnership with other farmers.
