A sherry finished whisky from Tullibardine, part of their range of finishes. It was matured first in bourbon casks before spending time in 500 litre sherry butts, most of which previously held Pedro Ximenez.
This maturation gives Tullibardine 500 its nutty brown colour as well as intense toffee apple notes on the nose with a hint of oatmeal. These notes then combine with a viscous spicy feel and sweet dates on the finish.
Nose: Spice, aromatic with sweet brown sugar toffee apples
Palate: Warm spices mixed in to honey. Cooked fruit
Finish: Creamy butterscotch and almonds with a hint of chocolate
